Observing with the telescope

The Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy invites astronomers from all countries to submit observing proposals to use the 100-metre telescope.

The Programme Committee for Effelsberg (PKE) makes selection based on the observing proposals submitted and allows the successful applicants to access to the telescope. If needed, the Institute provides support concerning project planning, observations, and data analysis.

Astronomers from the EU and its affiliated countries can apply for additional support for their projects through the TNA (Transnational Access Programme) of ”RadioNet“, which is an I3-initiative (I3= Integrated Infrastructure Initiative) in the EU programme EC FP6.
