Based on infrared-interferometry, young stars as well as stars at late stages of formation and active galactic nuclei are investigated by using optical and infrared spectral ranges.
The Institute is actively involved in the development of new technologies for infrared-interferometry and spectroscopy.

Another part of the Institute’s effort is devoted to the theory of active galactic centres, cosmic ray and high-energy particles.
