Abstract
We report on spectrally dispersed, spatially resolved VLTI/MIDI observations of the B[e] star Hen 3-1191. The N-band visibilities give an equivalent disc diameter increasing from 24 mas at 8 µm to 36 mas at 13 µm, with a slight silicate feature. We explain the spectral energy distribution and the N-band visibility continuum with an ad-hoc circumstellar disc model with a hot, puffed-up inner rim. However, it does not help us in determining Hen 3-1191's still unknown nature. High resolution visible spectroscopy and/or an accurated determination of its distance are the likely keys to this determination.
