Abstract
Rapid rotation effects can nowadays be directly measured by stellar interferometry. We present our recent high-quality interferometric data recorded with VLTI/VINCI on two rather different rapidly rotating stars: Achernar (B3Vpe star) and Altair (A7IV-V star). By using a first-order analysis (equivalent uniform disc model) we estimate the oblateness of these stars. For Altair, we also perform a comparison with observations from other modern interferometers (PTI and NPOI), finding a good agreement between the data from these 3 interferometers.
