Abstract
We present preliminary results from the first of two epochs of Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA) observations of the water masers associated with the silicate carbon star
IRAS 07204-1032. Images show the masers form a linear structure roughly 20 mas across with the extreme red- and blue-shifted masers on the ends of the distribution and
masers at intermediate velocities in the center. We compare the structure of the IRAS 07204-1032 water masers to those associated with two other silicate carbon stars,
EU And and V778 Cyg, both of which show similar maser distributions. For V778 Cyg it has been proposed that the masers trace a warped oxygen-rich disk around an unseen
companion to the carbon star. We also discuss future scheduled VLBA observations that should enable us to determine any proper motions of the masers toward IRAS 07204-1032.
