Comments

The 610 MHz system is a prime focus receiver using uncooled FET amplifiers. It was constructed for VLBI observations. The local oscillator (LO) is a synthesizer in the prime focus cabin and is not obtained from the ULO system. The receiver does not contain any components allowing continuum observations with a polarimeter. There is no phase shifter and no injected swept frequency (VTO) signal for cable and phase equalization. Interference from television transmitters is to be expected at this frequency. There is a regional protection for a narrow frequency range, permitting VLBI observations, but sensitive continuum observations are not possible due to the strong out-of-band interfering transmitters.
