The organisation of the telescope-pointing has been
changed. The files,
in which the pointing constants are stored used by the drive-program
for
the calculation of the corrections ("pointing files"), are now
handled in another way. The model and the calculation of the
corrections
are the same as before. Formerly the drive program used only one
special
file as input for the values of the constants. Now J. Schraml changed
that.
One can easily read in other pointing files by the OBSE(OBSINP)
user interfaceduring a session. Using the standard procedures for
observations
in the secondary focus (with several receivers in paralell) there is
automatically
choosen the adapted pointing file for the activated receiver by the
system.
The OBSE-command for reading a new set of
pointing constants,
which will be activated at the begin of the next measurement, is:
- OBSINP PTGF:
<name>
- <name> must have 8 characters.
The pointing file resides in the directory MPI$DATABASE:
with
the filename <name>.POI . To see the active pointing file one can
look on the OBSINP-display pages with "show dp1".
The system pointing files are named by the frequency of
the receiver
and the prefix for the focus (for example: PRI23000.POI or
SEC08600.POI).
For documentation these can easily be printed out or displayed by
"print
MPI$DATABASE:<filename>" or "type MPI$DATABASE:<filename>"
on the command level of the control computer.
