The 5 cm (6.6 GHz) Primary Focus Receiver

11-Nov-1998 / jn

The 5 cm primary focus receiver has got a new frontend-switch (Switch 11), which gives the possibility to put an additive attenuation of about 10 db in the frontend. That is intended for observations of very strong Maser-lines in its passband, which can overload the amplifiers. This can be set by the normal OBSE-commands SET SWITCHES_l or SWITCHES_C. In order to make it a bit easier I introduced some OBSE-symbols for that receiver. The switch number 9 regulates the strength of the calibration signal:

SW11ON     = switch 11 ON   and   switch 9 ON      (attenuation ON and LOW calibration signal)

SW11OFF     = switch 11 OFF  and   switch 9 ON    (attenuation OFF and LOW calibration signal)

SW11ONHIGH     = switch 11 ON   and   switch 9 OFF     (attenuation ON and HIGH calibration signal)

SW11OFFHIGH     = switch 11 OFF   and   switch 9 OFF    (attenuation OFF and HIGH calibration signal)

Beside setting the switches for continuum and line observations the frequencies are set to LSB (lower sideband) using these commands.
